Drupal

The Druplicon Drupal logoDrupal is an open source web Content Management System (CMS) founded by Dries Buytaert in 2000. Its source code was released to the public in January 2001 for the first time. Drupal is also a Content Management Framework (CMF) that you can build almost any kind of website with. It has a thriving community quickly closing in on one million members. There are around 7,000 contributed modules available to extend its functionality.

Drupal, contributed modules and themes, on the community website, are all released under the GPL license. That means anyone can download and use it for free. The community is made up with all sorts of people, from individuals to people working full time, employed by companies, helping to develop, support and promote it. Its a very friendly place where everyone quickly feels right at home.

Drupal is rapidly gaining momentum as a rock solid and secure platform, especially in the enterprise world. Any website, from a simple blog to the most advanced with tons of traffic can be built with it thanks to its excellent scalability and extensibility. Arguable the biggest evidence of that came when the US government re-launched withehouse.gov on Drupal in October 2009.

The reason I am saying pretty sure is that my site was hit big by spam bots today and even though I have set the log to keep the last 10,000 entires the number of new spam attempts filled it before I had a chance to look at it.The content of it was:...

Media module beta 2 for Drupal core beta 2 and 3
On the project page for the Media module it says that its betas corresponds with the Drupal 7 core betas. After filing two issues about that, the problems has now been sorted.Below you'll find information about...

The release plan for Drupal 7 have always said that when that happens then the first Release Candidate would be out. I'm sure most of you by now have already downloaded and played with any of the two beta versions of Drupal 7 that has been release, and so have of course I done.Without a doubt, Drupal 7 is going to make a massive impact on the CMS/CMF market when it, and a bunch of the top contrib modules, are in official released version. Sure, it still has a long way to go before it will be as easy to install...
