The Drupal 7 Theme Bartik used on Nutshell

Nice improvement, isn't it? As I mentioned in my post yesterday I was going to take Jen Simmons Bartik theme for a spin.

Today I have done so and started by reading about the new changes in the theme system for Drupal 7. There are some very nice improvements from Drupal 6. I won go into them here, but if you want to know more. Check out the video below where Laura Scott gives a very good overview of them at DrupalCon San Fransisco in April this year.

Bartik on Nutshell

OK, back to my site. It is now running on a slightly modified Bartik theme. Actually the only changes I have done have been to the CSS, besides commenting out bredcrumbs in page.tpl.php.

I only had to change six CSS styles to change the standard Bartik styles into something more suitable for my needs. The rest was done using the color settings for the theme itself.

Sure, the theme is far from tuned to what I want, but its a good start and it looks so much better and more modern than the Garland theme I used before.

I did find a few small issues with it and have reported them back to the issue queue. One of these are that comment numbers aren't visible, hopefully that will be sorted soon.

I hope you like it. If you find any quirks, please leave a comment.

I am not familiar with Drupal 7, but I will give it a try when I have a chance.

I love Drupal 7 Theme Bartik. If I am not mistaken, it is used on Nutshell too. Great discovery.
