10,000 Gardeners on Drupal 7

In a blog post Dries Buytaert just announced that Drupal Gardens now have more than 10,000 sites.

Considering that it was launched as a private beta as recently as late January this year, and you still have to apply for beta access this speaks volumes about the interest for Drupal.

On average that is about 100 new account each day, including the limited private beta period in the beginning.

As I wrote in Being Brave with Drupal 7 alpha 5 both this site and Drupal Gardens are built on Drupal 7 and live on the Internet.

With 10,000 sites Drupal Gardens will definitely be a great stress test and aid in making Drupal 7 a well tested and stable product when it is release later this yet.

I can only join the long queue and congratulate Dries and everyone else at Acquia and the Drupal community for the work they all are doing. And no, I haven't found the 15 minutes to test it yet. Soon hopefully.
