UPDATE 08/24/2010: It looks like Examiner.com has changed the permissions to the video so it no longer can be embedded. Also, yesterday I was contacted by a Examiner.com regarding my posts. They want to correct some "inaccuracies" as well as address my questions. Currently I haven't received their comments yet, but when I do so I will publish a follow up.

Lately I have sensed there is a growing impatience among Drupal users about that it, for some, seems to take forever for Drupal 7 to be ready, or even come out in a beta release. Many of those complaining about the delays have also indicated that they are not going to give it a spin until the beta is out - Because its too buggy right now. Of course it is buggy, that is why it is still in alpha. Its also still in alpha because the upgrade path from Drupal 6 isn't fully working yet.

As time changes and passes most logos do the same as their owners want to adapt their offerings to the latest trends or name changes. The Drupal logo is no exception from this. In the beginning it was Drop, now it is Drupal.

The release of the first Drupal 7 beta version is very close. The community is working hard on squashing the last beta blocker issues for the upgrade path. Code sprints, such as the Acquia sponsored one in Boston on August 17, are arranged in several places to speed things up.
