New Website - Drupal Mill is Live

Yesterday I made Drupal Mill live after 72 hours of intensive work. Drupal Mill is built on Drupal 7, of course, and aim to be a great online resource for people building sites or using Drupal 7.

First Spam that Mollom didn't catch

Today I got the first spam that Mollom didn't manage to catch. I'm not really surprised though since I am pretty sure it was not done by a spam bot. The reason I am saying pretty sure is that my site was hit big by spam bots today and even though I have set the log to keep the last 10,000 entires the number of new spam attempts filled it before I had a chance to look at it.

The content of it was:

Drupal 7 Release Parties All Over the World

I'm sure most of you are buzzing about the imminent release of Drupal 7. A few days ago Drupal 7 RC2 (Release Candidate 2) was released so it is now very close to the official version being rolled out.

Drupal 7 RC1 Released - Quick Report

The day has finally come - Drupal 7 RC1 (Release Candidate 1) has been released. Angie "webchick" Byron tweeted this a few hours ago:

After nearly 3 years of work by nearly 1,000 awesome people, we proudly present #drupal 7 rc1: http://bit.ly/gyECFX

This is a fantastic milestone for the Drupal community, a day we all have been waiting for.

Get Media Module to Work with Drupal 7 Beta 3

On the project page for the Media module it says that its betas corresponds with the Drupal 7 core betas. I have been toying with the new Media module beta and tested it with both Drupal 7 beta 2 and 3. It installed fine in both, but the settings pages for the media types didn't work at all. After filing two issues about that, the problems has now been sorted.

Below you'll find information about how to patch Media module beta 2 to work with Drupal 7.

Drupal 7 Beta 3 - Quick Review

Yesterday the third beta of Drupal 7 was released. While many had expected it to be the first release candidate due to that the number of critical Drupal 7 bugs at the same time reached 0, that didn't happen. I have taken a quick look at the new beta version and below you can read my initial experiences.

ZERO Critical Bugs, but No Drupal 7 RC - Why?

A few hours ago Angie @webchick Byron tweeted that she had committed the last critical bug to take the count down to zero. The release plan for Drupal 7 have always said that when that happens then the first Release Candidate would be out. The Drupal community on twitter of course went crazy after that tweet expecting it to happen. Well, only a couple of hours a new release was out, but it was a new beta, not RC1.

Media Module for Drupal 7 now in Beta

One of the modules that a lot of users are waiting for to be ready for Drupal 7 is the Media module. It was from the beginning going to be available for both Drupal 6 and 7, but today the development is focused on the Drupal 7 version.

Help Drupal and Earn Prizes from Google Code-In

In a blog post today, Google announced the open source organisations accepted to Google Code-In 2010. Google Code-In is a Google sponsored program where they help open source organisations forward. Drupal is one of the organisations they have accepted together with other Web CMS such as Plone and WordPress.

Drupal 7 Beta 2 and New Nutshell

I'm sure most of you by now have already downloaded and played with any of the two beta versions of Drupal 7 that has been release, and so have of course I done.

Without a doubt, Drupal 7 is going to make a massive impact on the CMS/CMF market when it, and a bunch of the top contrib modules, are in official released version. Sure, it still has a long way to go before it will be as easy to install and get going with as for example WordPress and Joomla. The distance to those two is much much smaller though.
